Topologilinux is a full distribution of Slackware Linux (including Gnome 2.6, Kde 3.2.3, Xorg 6.7, Gcc 3.3.4, etc…) that runs either in “Real Mode” (via a Grub bootloader that it installs) or in a window inside Windows via coLinux.

This is absolutely perfect for cross-platform development work, such as work I’m currently doing for OpenLP in which I’m looking at a wxWidgets based GUI which should compile and run under both Windows and Linux.

I guess it was inevitable. While Adobe have been pressing ahead in the desktop application area of graphics and so on, Macromedia have been pounding the web-centric graphics arena. Problem is, as we know, these two areas are becoming closer and closer together. So Adobe are purchasing Macromedia for US$3.4billion. Having been a user of Coldfusion since the Allaire days (remember them?), it will be interesting to see what happens…
