Just got this email from the factory manager…

Good morning,
We currently have the last 76DTX40 tele to be made in Australia (forever) sitting in our cell area.If you would like to sign the inside of it please come to the cell before 10 o’oclock today.

And since we’re the last manufacturer of CRT TVs in Australia, that means that this, indeed, will be the last CRT TV to be made in Australia, EVER!

A bit of a sombre moment, really…

Oops, I better go and sign it…

I just read this BBC news report. Thought I’d make a note here about it, but to be honest, I’m left speechless by it. The nightmare that once was New Orleans is a message to us all, I think, that life is a fragile thing, and that there is no security in it apart from Christ.

Talking to the better half last night about blogs, and she was a little bit surprised that I in fact had a blog. I guess that shouldn’t surprise me - I think there’s only one or two people in the world that know I have a blog (Hi Glenn). But is this such an uncommon occurance?

Do we in fact blog, not for the blog to be read, but to feel as though the blog might be read? In the end, does it matter if no-one else in the world takes any notice whatsoever of what we put into our ramblings?

Probably not, so in the end, I will continue to write the occasional entry in here, in the hope that in some small, insignificant way, I will feel as though, one day, someone might just read them and feel as though they have been encouraged.

Found this on Gadgetopia. Raises interesting points regarding the use of blogs on the internet, especially in relation to children. While products such as Net Nanny can protect children to a certain point, it cannot prevent “the wrong sort of people” from reading a blog that a child (or anyone else) has put online. It really is up to parents to guard their children’s hearts and minds, both while on the internet and on every other area of life.

It’s a challenge, though…
